Lyndhurst Team raises more than £10,000 through Three Peaks Challenge
A team from Lyndhurst Financial Management has successfully completed the National Three Peaks Challenge, raising a combined total of over £10,200 for two charities close to their hearts: Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care and CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably).
Over a demanding 24-hour period, the team tackled Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, covering more than 23 miles and over 3,000 metres of ascent. While reaching the finish line was a fantastic achievement, those who took part agree the experience was about much more than climbing mountains.
Jerry Williamson said: “Having now completed the National 24-hour Three Peaks Challenge, I can safely say it was far tougher than I ever imagined. The challenge was a real test, both physically and mentally.”
For Ben Brown, it was the support between participants that made the difference: “There were plenty of tough moments along the way, but also so many memorable moments, stories and laughs that made it all worthwhile.”
One of the most inspiring achievements came from Chloe Barton. Having signed up later than the rest of the team and suffered a broken toe just weeks before the challenge, Chloe battled through exhaustion to complete the final climb of Snowdon with just minutes to spare.
Reflecting on the finish, Chloe said: “I pushed through and made it. Just. With two minutes to spare. I ran to the finish line and broke down in tears.” Joe Pritchard described her effort as: “An awe-inspiring performance.”
The challenge tested every participant, but it also highlighted the determination, resilience and teamwork that carried the group through some incredibly difficult moments. Most importantly, it has generated vital funding for two charities carrying out life-changing work for individuals and families who need support.
From everyone at Lyndhurst, thank you to all those who donated, encouraged and followed the team’s progress. Together, you helped raise more than £10,200 for charity and make a real difference to the lives of others.
